Book Description

Dynamic desktop computing is enabled with a matrix. Dynamic processing relates to being able to implement multiple layers of processing at the same time, along with multiple types of processing in each layer. The system contemplates millions, billions, and trillions of cells operating in real time on a desktop under the control of a user.

Dynamic computing is needed because when systems are evolved for the Internet a cell will be configured to go out and get information from a distributed resource. The first step is to get the cell configured to get the information. After the cell is configured, while the cell is doing its work, the user can go onto configuring the next cell.

The problem is that operations on the network are not as instantaneous as operations within a server or PC. The operations are similar, but are not able to be conducted in a linear manner. Sometimes it takes a while for a U.S. matrix to achieve access to a computer in Japan or China. Sometimes the resource being accessed is tied up.

The real time access to information over the network depends on being able to set up a process and let that run and then set up the next process, let that run, and so forth, without having any process delay. The system works like a key file. There is a simple look-up function. Network computing depends on people being able to access information in any format, in any location.

The process is dynamic in the same manner that calculus is dynamic. Linear processes are simple. Dynamic processes are those that are non-linear, with simultaneous events occurring in real time. Functions are unique to the user and may involve very large amounts of simultaneous processing of different types of information. With define Network access is facilitated by a dynamic matrix processor computer design that can be implemented as an attachment to any existing PC computer. The new design is a peripheral device that provides for simultaneous processing of millions of cells.

The matrix is a hardware device that is peripheral to existing computers in the same sense that a printer or storage device augments existing computers. The device works to let people define the information they want out on a network, retrieve the information from a variety of places including the Internet, and operate on that information to perform useful tasks.
