Wireless infrastructure companies responding to changes in
the worldwide wireless communications industry that includes moves toward
digital systems. The carriers are
purchasing digital systems that support IP 3G architecture, changing the
character of wireless telecommunications markets.
A strong financial condition positions a few companies with
competitive advantage that positions them to gain market share in the long term.
Nokia, Alcatel, Motorola, and Siemens have a significant competitive
advantage. Lucent and Ericsson are well positioned in the market, but

Wireless switch markets at $35.8 billion in 2001 are expected to drop to
$34.7 billion in 2002 and begin to recover by 2005.
